Preppify Children's Privacy Notice
Version: 1.1 Effective date: 2026-10-16
Preppify is built for children to learn on — which means we owe parents a clear, honest explanation of how children's information is handled. This notice is that explanation. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which applies in full; if you read only one document as a parent, read this one.
Preppify is operated by NST EdTech, a sole proprietorship based in Erode, Tamil Nadu, India ("we", "us"), which is responsible for the personal information described here.
1. Parents are in charge
Preppify is designed so that a parent or guardian — not the child — sets up and controls how a child uses the Service. A parent or guardian:
- creates the account and accepts our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service;
- creates each child's profile and decides what information it contains;
- creates or approves the assessments the child takes;
- sets the child's permissions (for example, whether the child can create assessments or join challenges);
- decides whether the child participates in classrooms or academic challenges;
- can deactivate the family account, which deactivates the child profiles in it.
By default, a child uses Preppify in child mode on the parent's device — the child has no account, no sign-in, and no email or password of their own.
Older students. A parent may optionally allow a child to link their own student sign-in so the child can use Preppify on their own device. The parent initiates or approves this link, and the parent's controls and visibility continue to apply. A student may hold an independent account only if they are 18 or older; younger students use the parent-linked route.
If your child asks you to approve their sign-in. A student under 18 can start signing up on their own device and ask you to approve. Until you approve, we keep only their name, the email address they signed in with, and your email address, and we use your email only to send you the request. We do not ask your child for their date of birth, school details, or anything else. When you approve, you enter those details yourself and agree to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service on your child's behalf — your child does not agree to them. If you do not approve within 7 days, or you decline, we delete the request and your child's sign-in within 14 days.
2. What we collect about a child
We collect only what the Service needs to work:
| Information | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Name | So parents and teachers can tell profiles apart |
| Date of birth | To present age-appropriate content and comply with children's privacy law |
| Grade, education board, medium of instruction, country | To align assessments with the right curriculum |
| Answers, scores, time spent, progress | To run assessments and show parents and teachers how the child is doing |
| Learning analytics (strengths and weaknesses by topic and difficulty) | To help parents and teachers guide practice |
That is the list. We do not collect from children: the school's name (for family accounts), photos, location, contact details*, biometric data, audio recordings, browsing history, or advertising identifiers.
* Two exceptions. A parent may optionally add a contact email for an older child to enable the student sign-in link described above. And a student under 18 who asks a parent to approve their own sign-in gives us the email address they signed in with, plus the parent's email address, so we can send the request (see section 1).
We don't ask children for photos. If a student signs in with Google, Google may share a profile picture link with our sign-in service; we don't save it to the student's profile.
3. What we never do with children's information
- No advertising. Children see no ads, and no advertising profiles are built.
- Learning progress only. We analyse a child's answers only to show learning progress to their parent and teacher. We don't track children across other apps or websites, and we don't build profiles of children for advertising or for any purpose other than their learning.
- No selling. We never sell children's information.
- No marketing to children. Marketing communications, where they exist at all, go to parents who opted in — never to children.
- No unnecessary collection. If a feature does not need a piece of information, we do not collect it.
4. Children and AI
Preppify uses AI to generate curriculum-aligned questions and explanations, using specialist AI service providers — currently OpenAI and Google (Gemini). When our servers request AI-generated content, the request contains educational context only — subject, grade, curriculum, topics, and question content. Your child's name and identity are never sent to AI providers. AI-generated content passes automated quality checks, and parents and teachers control which assessments a child takes. AI content can contain errors; it is a learning aid, not a formal evaluation of your child. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
5. When we ask for parental consent
We ask for your consent at clear moments, and we keep a record of what you agreed to and when:
- Account creation — you accept the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service before using the Service, and you provide each child's profile information yourself;
- Communication preferences — optional, and only about messages to *you*, the parent;
- Student sign-in link — linking a child to their own student sign-in happens only through a parent-controlled flow. If your child asks you to approve their sign-in, you agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service on their behalf when you approve, and we record that agreement on your account;
- Academic challenges — you (or a child you have specifically permitted) enroll the child in a challenge;
- Classroom enrollment — a child joins a teacher's classroom only with approval on the family's side.
You can withdraw consent at any time — by changing preferences in the app, unenrolling the child, or deactivating the family account. How long we keep a child's information. We keep a child's profile and learning history while the family account is open, so you can see their progress. If you close the family account, we redact and delete personal identifiers about 30 days after it closes. Unapproved student sign-up requests are deleted within 14 days, and invitations that are not accepted are deleted about 14 days after they are sent.
6. Classrooms, teachers, and challenges
- Classrooms. If you enroll your child in a teacher's classroom, the teacher sees your child's name and their results for that classroom's assessments — the same way a teacher sees work handed in at school. In that classroom setting the teacher or school directs how those classroom learning records are used, and Preppify processes them on their behalf (see the Privacy Policy "Our role"). Class-level rankings shown to *other families* do not reveal your child's name; other families see anonymized labels only.
- Schools. Where a teacher belongs to a school, school administrators oversee classrooms operated under that school.
- Academic challenges. Cross-family challenges are scored centrally, and your family sees your own child's results. Other families cannot see your child's name or individual results.
7. Reviewing, correcting, and deleting a child's information
As the account holder you can, at any time:
- Review and correct the child's profile and see their full learning history in the app;
- Adjust permissions or unenroll the child from classrooms and challenges;
- Deactivate the family account — after a 7-day grace period (during which you can change your mind), the account closes, child profiles are deactivated, and approximately 30 days later we redact and delete personal identifiers from the family's records, including child names and dates of birth (see the Privacy Policy for details);
- Remove a linked student's sign-in — from the child's profile. This deletes your child's own sign-in and their personal sign-in profile (such as their name and email address). Your child can also delete their linked sign-in themselves from their profile, and we will tell you. Either way the child's profile and learning history stay in your family account; to have them erased, contact info@nstedtech.com and we will complete it within 30 days;
- Download or review in the app — you can review and correct your child's profile in the app at any time. To keep a copy, go to Settings → Privacy & legal → Download my data (available on the parent account); the download includes child profile fields and high-level learning summaries, not individual questions or answers. For deletion, use account deactivation in your profile, or contact info@nstedtech.com from your account email if you need assistance with anything the in-app download does not cover, and we will verify your request and respond within 30 days or sooner where the law requires.
For students
If you use Preppify with your own sign-in, this part is for you.
- What we keep: your name, the email you sign in with, and your answers, scores and progress. If you're under 18, we don't ask for your photo, your location or your phone number.
- Who sees your results: your parent or guardian, your teacher if you're in their class, and your school's administrators if your teacher belongs to a school. In class or challenge rankings, other people see only an anonymous label and a score — never your name.
- What we never do: show you ads, sell your information, or send you marketing.
- AI: we use AI to write questions. We never send your name or email to the AI.
- Deleting your information: ask your parent or guardian — they can remove your sign-in in the app. You can also delete your linked sign-in yourself from your profile, or email info@nstedtech.com.
- Questions or worries: talk to your parent or guardian, or email info@nstedtech.com.
